About me
Hi, my name is Chris Michelsen, and I'm a media designer trainee at dieWerbeagentur. My background in media design goes way back to around 2006 where I got access to a computer with internet connection. I started creating little images which you could use as a signature in for example gaming forums. From then on everything took its course, and after I completed my vocational school I got an apprenticeship as a media designer. It was a small agency in my hometown where I came in touch with creating websites professionally for the first time. After about one and a half years the team and I didn't come along anymore, and we canceled the apprenticeship for the better good. Since I could not find an agency where I could continue working I made my advanced technical college certificate in it and electrical engineering. After that I got my current apprenticeship as a media designer in a small agency where I noticed how working in a team of like minded people bring me to the next level. In the future I would like to stay in this branch and work my way up to become a full stack developer because I like the continuous development of the job.
My focus
At my current workplace I'm mainly responsible for designing, programming and maintaining customer websites. When I'm not busy with a customer website I also do experimental stuff like creating tools to enhance or even create new workflows. A
few examples would be a link shortener, a password generator that fits our standards and a web checker that periodically checks all our customer websites and notifies us if something went wrong.
My workspace consists of a high-end windows
based computer with a multi monitor setup. When it comes to integrated development environment's I like to use Atom with a few quality of life plugins.
In my freetime
In my time off work I like to watch movies and series, play video games up to a competitive level and visit concerts and festivals with friends. Overall I'm really interested in computer hardware and software, space exploration and even military-historical topics to an extent.
